On 25 February 2020, GENS Research Team at Stellenbosch University, led by Prof Josephine Musango, held their first meeting with the Groenheuwel community in Paarl as an initial step towards forging collaborations to establish the GENS Living Lab.  The meeting was facilitated by the Radio KC Executive Director, Gail Jacobs, and held in Groenheuwel Primary School.

The GENS Research team who engaged in the meeting constituted of the Emerging Researcher, Dr Suzanne Smit; Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr Benjamin Batinge; PhD Researcher, Ms Christer Anditi; Prospective PhD  Researcher, John Onyeangiziri; Masters Researchers, Lelani Oosthuizen and Stefani van der Merwe; Honours Researchers, Sphokazi Mbata, Tamia Links and Chioma Amaechi; and intern Maquelon Claassen.
